Introduction

CAN houses an array of the state-of-the-art computing and communication equipment dedicated to the support of research projects and educational activities. It is the primary space for GRAs to conduct research activities, able to accommodate eight researchers.

CAN Lab has several GPU workstations plus many laptops and personal computers, used extensively for active research on GPU Scheduling for deep learning, AI applications, and computer networks and computer architecture. It currently houses six (6) key GPU workstations, as follows. Two customized workstations, each housing two Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada GPUs with 48GB GDDR6X VRAM each and having 256GB DRAM One customized workstation, housing two Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 GPUs with 24GB VRAM each and having 256GB DRAM. One Dell Precision Tower 7910 workstation, housing two Nvidia TITAN RTX GPUs with 24GB VRAM each and having 64GB DRAM. One Dell Precision Tower 7910 workstation, housing one Nvidia TITAN RTX GPU with 24GB VRAM plus one Tesla T4 GPU with 16GB VRAM and having 64GB DRAM. One Dell Precision 7920 workstation, housing one Nvidia T400 GPU with 4GB VRAM and having 192GB VARM.

Research Projects

CAN has pursued the research activities of AI applications and was actively involved in the areas of computer networks and computer architecture, with the following listed major projects undertaken by GRAs supported by federal and state funds.
